Re: Geologist TD

some times when i place a gem i accidentally put it in the wrong place. (laptop mouse pad isnt very good). and to fix the problem with the gem lifting, i think you should be able to block the path, but not be able to start the round that way. you should also be able to re-place the gem if it is the same round you placed it. just an idea :)

Re: Geologist TD

hmm, laptops... Well, Alchemist TD has ability to block path, and not start the next wave with blocked path, while GemTD has blocking path prevention algorithm. While yes, it might be better to have a gem movable if it was raised in this level. Although I'm currently against free moving of those gems that were placed from new gems area to the playfield. This needs some thinking, indeed. :)

Re: Geologist TD

either one works, whatever you think is best. personally i like gem td better than alchemist td...
i was just thinking of a quick fix for the raised gem problem

Re: Geologist TD

A quick fix is not to allow the gem to be dropped off upper right area until it will be firmly on the ground - I broke the autoraise code somewhere before and didn't catch this till now, so now if a tower was in there, it is now properly deallocated from above, once being properly placed. (I don't know when to update the game, and how - I'd like TST to answer.)

Hmm. Don't expect much, though, I have to add some visuals and some (at least some) sound to actually make it look and feel better. I wonder how should I make spexial effects, splash animation, stun animation if any, etc etc, and how to trigger this. Potentially it might make the game look messy, I'd like to avoid this.

Re: Geologist TD

well, you can't know until you try, pixels tend to get messy. especially if you try to stack effects. i know some game that tried to stack poison burn slow and stun, and it looked like a burning pile of green and blue pixels instead of the original monster. I'd love to see how yours goes.

Re: Geologist TD

well, I've tried, and so far a monster is still visible from under those pixels, and yes, adding stun into the mix might spoil me altogether. While I wanted to originally.
